Matthew has been involved with puppetry most of his life. For five years he worked as a principal performer with Beale Street Puppets. With Beale Street, Matthew performed all over the US and in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Festival Fringe.

Working on his own, Matthew has built several versions of Audrey II, the man-eating plant in Little Shop of Horrors, a life size Rhino for Circus Millennia, a 13 foot long dragon, and a host of puppets for Imagination Stage of Bethesda, MD.

Ferdinand the Bull, Trickman: a Spell of Cold Weather, Voyage of the Jumblies, The BFG, and Bunnicula. Matthew also created the donkey head for their mascot:Nick Bottom.
